SCHOTT PYRANOVA (El) is a clear, laminated composite glass with many thin panes of float glass, which prevent the passage of fire, smoke and heat radiation. Its resistive glass structure offers bi-directional protection from fire hazards. During a fire, the float glass pane closest to the flame shatters, allowing the transparent fire-resistant layers to foam up and form an opaque heat shield. SCHOTT PYRANOVA (El) panels meet EI glazing requirements as long as the temperature on the non-fire side does not exceed40 c more than the room tempreture and maximum of 180
in any one spot. It’s important to note that fire-resistant windows do not function in isolation – they only work as part of a system involving the glass, the framing and anchoring, and the building’s structure. The glass panel will likely fail if the framing or anchoring system is not fire-resistant. We will provide you with a qualified engineer to help you create the ideal design for your fire-resistant project.
PYRANOVA (El) offers comprehensive protection against radiant and conductive heat transfer. It limits the temperature on the non-fire side to facilitate safe evacuation.
